About Platelet Gel
One of the most popular biologics, Platelet Gel is a substance that is created by pheresing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from whole blood and combining it with thrombin and calcium or other activators to form a coagulum. During procedures like knee and tendons injection, platelet-rich plasma can also be used without activators when the gel formation is undesirable.
This coagulum or "platelet gel" has an extremely wide-range of clinical healing uses from dental surgery to orthopedics and plastic surgery. Autologous platelet gel (APG) should ONLY be prepared by or under the direction of a certified and (or) licensed clinical perfusionist.
We believe that as awareness of autologous platelet gel grows, its use in a variety of clinical healing applications will also increase. It is our mission is to keep you informed of everything relating to autologous platelet therapy and its clinical usage.
