I have the formula (Base excess x 0.3 x kg) / 2 as the correct method to calculate the amount of Bicarb(mEq) to correct base excess.

This is different to the formula in the Manual of Clinical Perfusion which is
(Base excess x kg)/4 and is the formula in Shapiro's Blood Gas book. It is also different to a formula used by a leading paediatric hospital which calculates based on blood volume.

Does someone have the formula that is used for the board exams?
If so please share it.

Thanks
