what is the ideal hct range to be maintained in paediatrics??? how does it hlp to have a higher range ie >30 or lesser range ie<25.. which is ideal ??? pls explain with reasons

Sandy dear there is no ideal range it varies from center to center and also depends on temp as well. For example if you are cooling down the patient to 18 or 20 celsus, mean the hct of 21 to 22 is enough but at the time of rewarming you need to bring it between 30 to 32 depending again weather you patient was cyanotic or not.if  your patient is cyanotic you even need higher hct.
