Better myocardial cooling for protection as well as delivery of oxygen at lower temp. (oxygen dissociation curve.)

It depends upon the complexity of the operation. For example, an ASD or let's say even a Fallot if u r done in two or three CPs with a mild hypothermia, a modified Calafiore CP could be as effective as a cold cristalloid or mixed one.

As cold as possible if using single dosing formulas. Multi-dosing a little warmer.

Thermography seems to be a helpful device throughout myocardial revascularization in order to assess correct myocardial cooling throughout cardioplegia, and to check intraoperative patency of saphenous vein graft and IMA graft. The use of a exceptional reflector prevents interference with the surgeon's work.
